For Dancers Only began in Little Falls, New Jersey in 1988. Under the direction of Kelly Allen, children as young as 2 ½ start their dance training. The children’s program is well known for producing young dancers with knowledge of dance terminology and technique. For Dancers Only has a staff of highly motivated and dedicated instructors in addition to wonderful guest teachers and choreographers who challenge and inspire dancers whether they dance once a week or every day!
For Dancers Only offers dance rooms featuring sprung wood floors, full wall mirrors, theatrical lighting and state of the art sound systems. There is plenty of parking and waiting areas for parents.
The Preschool and children classes at FDO are taught by a staff of specialty children teachers. Not necessarily professional dancers, these wonderful teachers have been trained in, and specialize in, the basics of ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling and creative movement. Classes are not geared towards perfection, but toward each child working at his or her own speed, learning to dance and loving to learn!
For Dancers Only proudly presents the BEST YOUNG DANCER PROGRAM in the area. Students as young as 2 1/2 are thrilled by dance classes that are customized to their age and abilities. FDO has an exceptional preschool and young dancer teaching staff that specialize in working with these youngest dancers.
For Dancers Only competitive teams and soloists have been recognized as one of the best in the country. For Dancers Only dancers have won high score awards and dance titles on the Regional and National level as well as many special awards recognizing overall excellence in technical training, choreography and costuming.
For Dancers Only students, past and present, are performing regularly with the New York City Ballet and Northwest Ballet Company, in various Papermill Playhouse productions and Off-Broadway in productions such as Riverdance, Footloose, The Will Rogers Follies, The King and I, Gypsy, Fosse and Radio City Spectacular, to name a few. FDO students performing on BROADWAY in How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Boy From OZ, Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie, White Christmas, and in the national touring companies of Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and Annie.They have appeared on talk shows and television commercials, in national pageants, in corporate industrials, in educational and music videos, on children’s shows such as Sesame Street and Nickelodeon, with the NETS KIDS DANCERS , with Children’s Theater Houses in New York City and in Summer Stock performances in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
